Preparation and Use Mixing Instructions Temperature
Dependency Application Spread the mixed adhesive on the surface to be tiled with a notched trowel large enough to give 100% coverage when tile is pressed into adhesive. A 1/16-in. x 1/16in. (1.5 mm x 1.5mm) square notched trowel is adequate for dot mounting or pregrouted ceramic mosaics on a smooth floor surface (Coverage is approximately 102 sq. ft per gallon). A 1/8-in. x 1/8-in. notched trowel should be used for back mounting ceramics, shallow ribbed backed tile on rough floor surfaces and smooth surface wall installations (Coverage approximately 51 sq. ft per gallon). A 1/4-in. x 1/4-in. notched trowel is required for rough wall surfaces or floor installations using heavy ribbed back quarry tile or pavers (Coverage is approximately 25 1/2 sq.ft per gallon) . At temperatures of 70F and higher, allow at least 16 hours to elapse before grouting. Temperatures less than 70F allow at least 24 hours before grouting.
